Big Hair in America

a high energy romp centred around the true crime story of a cheerleader murder plot

Working with NIDA (MFA) educated director Flynn Hall, I was cast in a lead role in Peter Anthony Ryan's Big Hair in America. My character, Valma, was based on the intended target of the real life murder plot by 'pom pom mom' Wanda Holloway.

rehearsal process

As the play was based on a true story, we deep dove into research on the real life case. By delving into my character's real life counterpart, Verna Heath, I was able to uncover rare footage, photographs and interviews that informed my rehearsal process and ultimate performance.
